Free Developer Tools

Free, private, browser-based developer tools: JSON formatter, hash generator, Base64 encoder, JWT decoder, regex tester and more. Nothing leaves your browser.

Client-side developer helpers

Developer tools on Whiztools are meant for quick inspections and conversions while you work: format or validate JSON, convert CSV ↔ JSON or YAML, encode or decode Base64, hash a string, decode a JWT payload, test a regular expression, tidy SQL, or encode HTML entities. They are deliberately small so you can paste a snippet, get an answer, and move on.

Running them in the browser means API keys, tokens, and sample payloads you paste for debugging are not transmitted to our servers as part of processing. That does not replace a secure vault for secrets, but it does avoid dumping production data into random online “formatters.”

Common debugging workflows

A typical loop looks like this: paste messy JSON into the formatter to find a trailing comma, convert a spreadsheet export with CSV→JSON, inspect a JWT header/payload without verifying the signature on a remote service, or check a regex against sample log lines. Number-base conversion helps when you are staring at hex colour values or bit flags. Slugify turns titles into URL-safe paths when you are drafting content models.

  • API payloads: format JSON, then convert to YAML if a config file needs it
  • Auth debugging: decode JWT claims locally (still verify signatures in your app)
  • Data handoff: CSV ↔ JSON without uploading customer rows
  • Quick crypto checks: hash a string to compare digests — not for storing passwords alone

What these tools are (and are not)

They are convenient for learning, debugging, and one-off conversions. They are not a substitute for your IDE, CI pipeline, or cryptography library in production code. Prefer hashing and encoding here for inspection; keep real secret management in your existing secure tooling. When a transform looks wrong, fix the source data first — converters amplify messy headers and nested structures rather than inventing schema for you.
