Private image tools that run in your browser
Whiztools image tools handle the everyday photo jobs people run into when filling forms, posting online, emailing clients, or cleaning up a phone camera roll — compressing a picture to an exact kilobyte limit, converting HEIC from an iPhone into JPG, resizing for social platforms, stripping GPS metadata, removing a background, or sharpening a soft AI-generated landscape.
Unlike upload-based converters, every step runs locally in your browser. Your photos are not sent to a remote server, queued in someone else’s storage, or retained “for an hour.” Once the page has loaded, most tools keep working even if you disconnect from the internet.
When to use which image tool
Start with Compress Image to Size when a form rejects anything over 50 KB or 200 KB. Use Resize Image when you need exact pixel dimensions for a portal or print shop. Reach for format converters (HEIC, WebP, PNG, JPG, AVIF) when an app refuses the file type you have. Choose Strip EXIF before sharing photos publicly if you do not want location or camera metadata attached. For soft or low-resolution pictures, Clean / Sharpen and AI Upscale rebuild clarity on-device rather than simply stretching pixels.
- Form uploads and e-KYC: compress to an exact KB target, then convert HEIC → JPG if needed
- Web and email: resize, then convert to WebP or JPG for smaller files
- Privacy before sharing: strip EXIF, then export PNG or JPG
- Soft AI art or blurry snaps: clean first, then upscale if you also need more resolution
Quality and privacy trade-offs
Lossy formats like JPG discard detail to save bytes; PNG keeps every pixel but produces larger files; WebP often sits between the two for web use. AI upscaling and cleaning can invent plausible detail, but they cannot recover information that was never in the original photo — and results still depend on your device’s GPU and memory. Because processing stays on your machine, very large batches may be slower than a data-center tool, which is the intentional trade for keeping private images private.
If you need a walkthrough rather than a single click, the Guides cover form uploads, HEIC conversion, EXIF stripping, soft-photo cleanup, and private background removal in more depth than a tool page can.
