Kapwing is a collaborative online video editor with a broad set of AI tools, templates and brand kits, and real-time collaboration that makes it popular with teams and classrooms.
Its free plan is designed as a taster. As of September 2026 Kapwing's own pages list free exports at 720p with a Kapwing watermark, videos up to four minutes, 30 export minutes a month, auto-subtitles up to ten minutes and 250 MB per upload, with media stored on Google Cloud servers in the United States. Kapwing also notes that uploads made while signed out may be accessible to anyone with the link, and it does not work offline.
Whiztools has none of those limits because it has no servers doing the work. The editor runs inside your browser tab and your footage stays on your device, so there is no upload cap, no monthly allowance, no watermark and no account.

Why is exporting slower than in a cloud editor?
Because it happens on your processor, in a browser that cannot use your graphics card's video encoder. Short clips export quickly; a long 4K edit takes a while. That is the cost of not uploading.
