Blur Part of a Video

100% private — runs on your device, never uploaded. Works offline once loaded.

Hide what should not be seen before a video goes out: a bystander's face, a number plate, an address on a letter, a password on a screen. Draw a box over it on the video, choose whether to blur it, pixelate it or black it out completely, and apply it to the whole clip or only between two times. For anything sensitive, choose the solid black box — blur and pixelation hide detail from a viewer, but a black box leaves nothing to recover at all. Because the footage never leaves your device, it is safe to use on exactly the material that needs redacting.

Frequently asked questions

Does the box follow a moving face?

No — the area is fixed in the frame. For a subject that moves, draw the box large enough to cover their path, or apply several shorter boxes between different times.

Is blurring secure?

For casual privacy, yes. For genuinely sensitive information, choose the black box: blurred and pixelated text can sometimes be partly reconstructed, a black box cannot.

Is my video uploaded?

No — redaction happens in your browser, which is the point.
