Cutting the dead air out of a talking-head recording by hand takes longer than recording it. This does it in one pass: it listens to the speech, finds every pause longer than the length you choose, and cuts it out of the timeline — keeping a sliver of breathing room either side, so the result sounds tight rather than chopped. With the on-device speech model it can find the filler words too, and cut "um", "uh" and "erm" using the exact timing of each word. Titles and captions after each cut move with the footage, and because the cuts are ordinary edits on a timeline you can see every one, adjust any of them, or undo the lot in one step. Frequently asked questions
Will it cut off the ends of words?
It keeps a short margin of silence either side of each cut, which is what stops words from sounding clipped. If a recording is noisy, choose the "noisy room" sensitivity so quiet breaths are not mistaken for speech.
Can I undo it?
Yes — every cut is removed in a single undo, and each one is also visible on the timeline to adjust individually.
How does filler-word removal work?
The speech model transcribes the video with a timestamp for every word, and the words "um", "uh", "erm", "hmm" and similar are cut at those timestamps. Softer fillers like "like" and "basically" are optional, and only removed when they stand on their own between pauses.
